How can I solve Fitbit sync problems when the hotel WiFi goes through a sign-in web page?
Here is how one of our users solved the problem:
"I am staying in a hotel near the beach, and my phone is on its wifi. Before using the wifi, it requires you to go through a sign-in web page where you give your room number and last name. My phone was signed in. However, it seems the Fitbit could not get signed in through the WiFi connection. When I finally thought to disconnect from wifi and use my mobile data only, it immediately started working."

Why does the Fitbit watch app show a "Connection Error" when I try to download new tide data from the phone?
Please be patient, the Fitbit connectivity is slow and unreliable .

The Fitbit phone app "Sync" step, shown in the video, is very important. Don't skip it and make sure that the watch app Tide Table Chart is closed during the Sync.

Please try this:
1.) On your watch: close the Fitbit app Tide Table Chart.
2.) Open the Fitbit phone app and Sync it with your watch, wait until it says "a moment ago"
3.) On your watch: open the Tide Table Chart app, tap "..." and then the Refresh button
4.) Wait at least one minute for "Connecting..." (the Fitbit is slow). If the watch display goes black during the download, just tap the watch screen to switch the display on again.

Steps 1) and 2) are really important, don't skip them.

Unfortunately Fitbit is doing a terrible job to recover from connectivity problems.
So you may have to repeat these 5 steps several times.

Try it with different Connectivity settings:
* WiFi on, Mobile Data off
* WiFi off, Mobile Data on

Sometimes it helps to Restart your phone and your watch (power off - power on) and then repeat the 4 steps above as shown in the video

Sorry, we can not help you with watch connection problems.
This is a problem in the Fitbit phone app, which is responsible for all the communication between watch and phone. Fitbit had promised to fix these problems a long time ago, but so far they have failed to do this: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/SDK-Development/Companion-messaging-and-writing-a-file-Not-working/m-p/2400027#M2173

But if you make sure that Fitbit watch and phone are connected and
if you follow the "Sync" steps correctly, as described above and shown in the video, you should be able to get it working.
